Domestic Travel

The Pet Wagon offer clients the necessary services to complete their pet's move. Here is a list of services we offer:


Domestic Air Travel Rules and Regulations:

  • Dogs and cats must be at least 8 weeks old and must have been weaned before traveling with the airlines.

  • Kennels Must :


  • Be constructed of wood, metal, plastic or a similar material.

  • Have bolts and nuts, not plastic latches.

  • Be leak-proof and the door must fasten securely.

  • Kennel door must be constructed of welded or cast metal. Plastic or top-opening doors are not allowed.

  • Be large enough for the animal to stand with a 3" head clearance, sit and lie comfortably, and in a natural manner.

  • Have separate food and watering containers.

  • Contain absorbent material.

  • Be adequately ventilated in at least 3 sides. (International Travel require all sides to be ventilated)

  • Be marked with the words "live animal" on the top and one or more sides, in letters at least 1 inch high.

  • Have labels with the shipper and consignee's name, street address and phone number.

  • Feeding and Watering

Please do not feed your pet right before travel. Instructions for feeding, watering, and administering medication to the animal over a 24-hour period must be attached to the kennel. The 24-hour schedule will assist the airline in providing care for animals that are diverted from their scheduled destination.


  • Do NOT sedate your pet!






Health Certification


Airlines and State health officials generally require health certificates for all animals transported by air. Health certificates must be issued by a licensed veterinarian who examined the animal within 10 days of transport. Dealers, exhibitors, and others regulated under the Animal Welfare Act must provide a health certificate for each dog, cat, or nonhuman primate shipped.
